Ongoing Projects

This subteam maintains the Cognos SharePoint site, which contains a wealth of resources for those using Cognos. 

This subteam is reaching out to a pilot group of Cognos authors to gauge satisfaction with the Cognos environment and identify areas where improvements can be made. The team will also reach out to a pilot group of academic chairs and directors, to see if their data needs are being met, and if not, letting them know that Cognos resources exist. In many cases, the chairs and directors may have someone within their area to run pre-existing Cognos Reports.

This subteam also conducts  monthly OU Power BI User Group meetings and Cognos User Group meetings as needed.

Completed Projects

A Qualtrics survey was created and sent to Cognos authors. The goal of the survey was to uncover useful reports currently ‘hidden’ in a Staging or My Folders area, with the hopes that such reports can be migrated to the Production folder, where they can be enjoyed by a wider university audience.

This subteam has meet with Cognos representatives from three colleges to determine level of satisfication with Cognos and Cognos support, and to determine ways that Cognos support may be enhanced for the OU Cognos community. 

This subteam assisted in the Cognos Analytics (Cognos 11.02) Go Live in October 2017 by providing communications, Cognos User Group meetings, documentation, and enhancements to Cognos Sharepoint, all which led to a smooth Go Live experience for the OU Cognos community. 

This subteam has added Cognos support aids to Cognos Help and Support folders to make Cognos aids that were previously accessible from the Cognos 10.2.2 Landing Pagehelp more accessible and visible to the Cognos community within Cognos Analytics. The subteam is pursing the addition of a link to Cognos Sharepoint from the Cognos Analytics landing page.
