Construction Science Faculty Awarded Grant for Construction Safety Project

Construction Science faculty members Somik Ghosh and Matt Reyes recently received a $5,000 grant from TEXO for a construction safety project.

In 2017, one in five worker deaths were in the construction industry (OSHA). The construction industry’s fatal and non-fatal injury rates reveal it to be among the most dangerous industries in which to work.

Ghosh and Reyes’ proposed project will develop, implement, and measure the effectiveness of trade-specific safety training strategies that bridge the linguistic and cultural differences of the construction workforce.
