On March 29, Associate Professor Brittany Hott testified before the House Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies.
During this oversight hearing to address the challenges of rural America, Hott centered her remarks on rural strengths – both in schools and communities – while highlighting critical special education teacher shortages and the need for quality STEM education opportunities.
She also mentioned that support for Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act implementation is critical if students are to be equipped for post-secondary education and workforce ready.
