Kaleb L. Briscoe, Ph.D.

About Me

  • I am an assistant professor of adult and higher education in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
  • I am a huge Marvel fan (having seen every movie and TV show and read the comics). I also love concerts and attended about 10-12 shows last year.

  • I feel grateful for working with my students at OU who possess brilliant and critical insights, full of inspiration. I have the privilege of collaborating with these passionate educational scholars and am excited about creating positive changes in the lives of our young generations together.

  • Outside of making our academic programs No. 1 in the nation, I’m excited about OU sports and seeing the men and women pick up some national championships.

  • I am a professor and department chair in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
  • I am a co-founder of a Native American sorority at OU, Gamma Delta Pi Inc.

  • I am glad to work with amazing colleagues and scholars and also to connect with my home community of Oklahoma and to be re-connected with family and friends.

Christy L. Oxendine (Lumbee), Ph.D.

About Me

  • I am an assistant professor of educational studies in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
  • I’m from North Carolina, Oklahoma is the eighth state I've lived in, and I'm excited to have 10 of the 50 states left to visit (Arkansas, Connecticut, Deleware, Idaho, Maine, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah and Vermont). I love a good road trip, and no, I don't count airports.

 

What Excites You About Being at OU?

  • I'm looking forward to advising and working with graduate students through their research and writing journeys. I’m also excited about courses I am developing and teaching.

About Me

  • I am an assistant professor of professional counseling in the Department of Educational Psychology.
  • I was internationally recognized in 2015 as one of the youngest individuals to obtain their clinician level, Board Certification in Neurofeedback from the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance.

 

What Excites You About Being at OU?

  • I cannot wait to support students as they grow to become outstanding mental health counselors! I also am incredibly excited to begin developing and then teach coursework in neurofeedback (EEG biofeedback)!

  • I am an assistant professor of reading education in the Department of Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum.
  • I enjoy hiking.

  • I am most excited about sharing my love of teaching literacy with preservice early childhood and elementary teachers.

About Me

  • I am an assistant professor of adult and higher education in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
  • I have not lived in the same house/apartment for more than one year since 2005. Fingers crossed, this is the year that streak finally ends!

 

What Excites You About Being at OU?

  • I am excited to join the OU community, where I have the unique opportunity to seamlessly integrate my teaching and research endeavors.
  • I’m particularly looking forward to working closely with the Intercollegiate Athletics Administration students to prepare the next generation of athletic administrators. This role offers me the chance to not only impart knowledge but also to learn from these future leaders.
