The School of Biological Sciences (SBS) offers graduate training across five degree programs: (1) Biology (M.S. and Ph.D.), (2) Cellular and Behavioral Neurobiology (Ph.D. only), (3) Ecology & Evolutionary Biology (Ph.D. only), (4) Microbiology (M.S. and Ph.D.), and (5) Plant Biology (M.S. and Ph.D.). SBS faculty conduct cutting-edge research across biological sciences, with research themes including the ecology of a changing planet, behavior from molecules to ecosystems, the biological foundations of one health, and mechanisms of biodiversity. Our School offers financial assistantships to our graduate students; additional fellowships are available to incoming graduate students.
Applications are due December 1 for graduate programs beginning the following August, though applications up to a few weeks late may be considered. Applicants are strongly encouraged to consult potential faculty advisors before applying.
