GIS Day at the Capitol is an annual event that brings together the public and private sectors of GIS professionals and showcases the many ways that geospatial technologies are utilized as decision-making tools throughout the state. The event will take place on March 5, 2025, on the 2nd floor of the State Capitol Building. It is free to the public, and CSA will have a booth so please drop by and pay us a visit!
Every Fall semester, CSA hosts our annual GIS Day at OU - an event geared toward celebrating students and professionals in the geospatial community. The event is open to the public, so whether you are a member of the OU community or just interested to learn more about how geospatial technology is being used by students and professionals in our area, please join us in celebrating GIS Day at OU in Fall 2025!
General attendance does not require registration, however if you would like to participate in the student poster/StoryMap competition or participate as an exhibitor, please contact us to learn how you can register.
In 2024, the 12th annual GIS Day at OU took place place on October 31st in the Molly Shi Boren Ballroom of the Oklahoma Memorial Union. The event hosted the student poster and StoryMap competition, an exposition designed to help students foster their professional development by presenting their research to both faculty and GIS professionals. Also featured were GIS exhibitors from the OKC metro area as well as academic departments from OU.

GIS Day at OU hosts professionals from across the state, providing a venue for our students to become familiarized with how GIS is used beyond of the academic setting.
The Award Ceremony recognizes all participating students for their hard work and participation in the event. The poster and StoryMaps competition features judges from departments across OU's campus and categorizes participants by undergraduate and graduate level. Participating students from each category are eligible to win cash prizes ranging from $600 to $1000!
