M.S. in ISE Thesis Option 

Program Objective

  • Prepare graduates with sound fundamental knowledge of Industrial and Systems Engineering while allowing some degree of specialization through advanced elective coursework in analytics, operations research, and systems engineering.
  • Provide an opportunity to engage in research with a faculty member and make contributions to Methodological Domains in Analytics and Systems Engineering, and to Impact Domains in Cyber-Physical-Social SystemsHealth and Medical Systems and Aerospace and Defense Systems.  

Program Highlights

The M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering Thesis Option is a 30 credit hour program that features fundamental courses in statistics, system modeling, and systems engineering subjects with elective coursework options available for specialization in various domains of industrial and systems engineering, preparing students with advanced knowledge to design and improve complex processes and systems across industries. The program involves collaboration with a faculty member on developing a substantial research project culminating in a thesis. The M.S. thesis option is especially appropriate for students interested in entering a doctoral program.

The M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering Non-Thesis Option is a 30 credit hour program that features fundamental courses in statistics, system modeling, and systems engineering subjects with elective coursework options available for specialization in various domains of industrial and systems engineering, preparing students with advanced knowledge to design and improve complex processes and systems across industries. The program requires only coursework and culminates in subject examinations selected by students in their area of topical interest.

  • Provide an M.S. degree program attained exclusively through online coursework that centers around preparing students to solve real-world problems to optimize processes, systems, investments, and organizations.

The M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering Online Option is a 30 credit hour, exclusively coursework-driven program that prepares students to tackle real-world challenges in manufacturing, business, and operations by designing and evaluating systems that enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality. Students learn to optimize every element of processes and systems, including people, equipment, materials, logistics, quality control, and processes, to deliver high-impact results.

Program Objective
