Island | Ridge Runner Trail
The Ridge Runner Trail is a National Recreation Trail with
two hiking loops around two major recreation development areas on the Willow
Springs Ranger District. Ridge Runner has 23 miles of walking trail
with two primitive camping locations at key nodes. The trail passes
through areas that exemplify Missouri's topography and the Forest Service
management practices. The combination makes an excellent learning
experience as well as an enjoyable recreation experience. A pocket
size map (and information brochure) was created that explained key aspects
of the project and oriented the user.
