Hwy 142 Access | Turtle Island
| Ridge Runner Trail
The Narrows are the last access (take out) point of the Eleven
Point National Scenic River. The entire plan is in the annual flood
plain, so the facilities must be resistant to flood damage. The asphalt
road is constructed with edge "tie downs" that prevent the flood waters
from undermining the road surface. The dock and river access ramp
a place to take best advantage of the oncoming flood waters, while maintaining
the undisturbed natural vegetation along the waters edge. Loading
and unloading are easily handled at "peak times" due to the additional
pull off surface located between the dock entrance and the driving lane.
