Your assistantship offer letter can serve as your employment offer letter. Check that the letter includes all items listed under "Employer Guidelines."
- Other on-campus employment
Please have your department follow the template below.
- Off campus employment
You must receive off campus employment authorization first. Provide a letter from your employer offering you a position within the company.
Employer guidelines
According to Social Security Administration guidelines, the letter must be typed or written on official employer letterhead and must include all of the following:
- Student name
- Description of the employment
- Employment start date
- Number of hours per week the student is expected to work
- Employer identity number (EIN)
- Employer's telephone number
- Student's immediate supervisor
- Employer's original signature with title and date
