Congratulation to Haifan Xiao, who successfully defended her MA thesis: "How does perceived discrimination affect voter turnout among registered Asian Americans?" Haifan's thesis committee members included Loretta Bass (Chair), Mitch Peck, and Trina Hope. Haifan is a doctoral student, but because her MA was in another field, she was able to do a thesis this spring to earn an MA in Sociology en route to her PhD. Haifan plans to take her general exams in fall 2021, and then begin work on her dissertation. Join us in congraulating Haifan's achievement.
