Students in this course build knowledge of the experiences of Oklahoma community members while working with stakeholders and organizations to develop action plans. Students design, plan, implement and evaluate a community survey. Students plan, implement and analyze a set of interviews and/or focus groups with community members/legislators.
In community research it is important to disseminate information back to the community, therefore students host a final presentation for community stakeholders and discuss outcomes and future projects.
Students have provided research data to many community partners in Oklahoma, including:
- Identity Coalition
- Oklahoma Academy Town Hall
- Calle 25
- Telemundo
- Red Cross
