Personal Statement

Halito! My name is Kayla Taylor and I’m a History major with a minor in Native American Studies. My goal as a historian aligns closely with what many nations strive for today: to honor the complexity of our shared past to better appreciate our present. As a lifelong Oklahoman who has lived all over the state, I have seen what Native nations and organizations can do for each other and the communities they live in. The Andrew Mellon NAS Fellowship for me is an opportunity to begin to do my part.
