Congratulations to NAS alum and NAS faculty, Warren Queton, on his new position as Director of the Kiowa Higher Education Grant Program for the Kiowa Tribe!
Warren earned his bachelor's degree in Native American Studies in 2006. He went on to earn a master's degree in Applied Linguistic Anthropology.
About his time as a NAS student, Warren said, "Studying at OU NAS was like being a part of a large extended family where your uncles and aunties are your professors and your classmates become your brothers and sisters. It did not matter what tribal background they came from, everyone felt a deep relationship connection to the campus."
Though he's now serving his tribe full-time, Warren will continue to serve as an Instructor of OU Native American Studies. He will teach NAS 4363/5363 Tribal Governance & Leadership for Spring 2021.
Warren has also worked for The University of Oklahoma as a Kiowa language instructor and an Academic Coordinator for University of Oklahoma Upward Bound Program and most recently as the Tribal Liaison Officer in the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Office.
Congratulations and thank you for all that you do, Warren!
