Dr. Farina King's Latest Book Finalist for Best Book in Utah History Award


The Utah Division of State History has announced that Dr. Farina King, Associate Professor and Horizon Endowed Chair of Native American Ecology and Culture in the Department of Native American Studies at the University of Oklahoma, has been chosen as the recipient of the finalist for Best Book in Utah History Award for her book, Returning Home: Diné Creative Works for the Intermountain Indian School, published by the University of Arizona Press in 2021 alongside coauthors Michael P. Taylor and James R. Swensen, both of Brigham Young University. 

Returning Home showcases and offers analysis to the creative works of Diné (Navajo) boarding school students at Intermountain Indian School, which was the largest Indian boarding school between 1950 and 1984.
