Richard V. Andree Memorial Scholarship
This fund was established in 1987, to honor the momory of Dr. Richard V. Andree, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics. Dr. Andree was an expert in abstract algebra and a pioneer in the application of computers in mathematics, as well as a former chairman of the Mathematics Department. Scholarships are given to outstanding students who plan a career in mathematics or computer-related mathematics, and whose record reflects exceptional achievement and potential as mathematicians. The scholarships vary in amount and are in support of tuition, fees and books.
"I am originally from Riverton, KS. I completed a BS at Evangel University in Springfield, MO in December 2002, with a major in mathematics and minors in Computer Science and Physics. In May 2019, I completed an MS in mathematics at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS.
"In between, I worked for several years as a geodetic engineer for a satellite imagery company. I also spent significant time traveling, and spent a year learning German in Hamburg. My hobbies include seeking out new music and creating noise using synthesizers and electric guitar."
