Nancy Scofield Hester Mathematics Scholarship
Mrs. Hester established this fund, as well as the Nancy Hester Presidential Professorship in the Department of Mathematics, in 2010. Nancy Scofield Hester graduated from the University of Oklahoma in the mid-1960's with a degree in mathematics. The scholarship was established to assist graduate or undergraduate students who are making satisfactory progress toward graduation, and need supplemental financial assistance.
"I am originally from Riverton, KS. I completed a BS at Evangel University in Springfield, MO in December 2002, with a major in mathematics and minors in Computer Science and Physics. In May 2019, I completed an MS in mathematics at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS.
"In between, I worked for several years as a geodetic engineer for a satellite imagery company. I also spent significant time traveling, and spent a year learning German in Hamburg. My hobbies include seeking out new music and creating noise using synthesizers and electric guitar."

"I am in academia to challenge my understanding through teaching. I hope one day we will build a better education system than the current one. Apart from maths I spend my time playing board games or reading books."
