Sawyer Young is a PhD Candidate with the Department of History. His research focuses on the history of Indigenous women in the fur trade from the early eighteenth to the late nineteenth centuries. His forthcoming dissertation analyzes Indigenous women's material production in the fur trade of the Great Lakes, Rockey Mountains, Arkansas River Valley, and Alaskan Coast.
