Leah Cargin is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Oklahoma. Her interests are women’s reproductive health, gender studies, sexuality, and Latin America during the Cold War. Since 2023 Leah has been researching in the archives of Mexico City. Her dissertation centers women and sexual health among a broader conversation of transnational modernization campaigns, sanitation programs, and urban development. She is co-founder of OU’s History Graduate Student Association, chair of the Western History Association’s Graduate Student Caucus, and a podcast contributor to the New Books Network.
