Ysabela Golden is here at the University of Oklahoma pursuing a doctoral degree in American History, after receiving her Masters in American History from Rutgers University. Her research on the American borderlands of the Great Lakes during the "Indian Removal" period of the early 1800's examines the difference between politic assertions of U.S territorial authority, and the organic federal reality of conflict and negotiations on the ground. When not working, Ysabela enjoys activities that take place in the air conditioned indoors, because she's from Michigan and has not acclimated to the Oklahoma heat.
