Top Life Defining Moments in Higher Education:

  • Choosing to go to college out-of-state meant that I experienced crippling homesickness throughout my first year, and I had to work through a lot of extreme self-doubt and insecurity during that time.
  • Having the opportunity to study and live in a country other than the United States changed my life forever -- the experience of being truly "on my own" on a different continent without my support network required me to grow up a lot and consolidate my life skills fast!
  • I realized that the skills and knowledge I gained in my many years invested in studying music were translatable into so many other professional fields outside of the arts.

While in college, I experienced:

  • Balancing work and school.
  • Not having a sense of belonging.
  • Financial stress.
  • Lack of a positive support network.
  • Homesickness.
  • Being a part of a Greek organization.
  • Academic motivation challenges.
  • Overcoming daily challenges through resiliency.
