Define the OU family in your own words.

The OU family is a diverse and inclusive community where cultures from around the world blend seamlessly, creating a vibrant and interconnected family that fosters mutual respect and understanding, making it a true representation of global unity and shared values. It's a real family away from home!

When was the moment you felt the greatest Sooner pride?

When I saw for the first time how the University of Oklahoma embraced and celebrated its international student community during different International Student events, where students from around the globe shared their cultures, languages, and traditions, showing how inclusive and supportive OU is. Seeing the way the OU family came together to ensure that these students felt welcomed, valued, and connected—far from home—filled me with immense pride..

What was the greatest gift you took with you after graduation?

Beyond the knowledge and skills I gained, it was the relationships I built with classmates, professors, and mentors that truly shaped my experience. These connections fostered a deep sense of confidence, resilience, and purpose, empowering me to face challenges and pursue my dreams.

Reveal one secret about campus.

There is a hidden nook within the Bizzell Memorial Library known as the "Harry Potter Room." Officially named the Great Reading Room, this enchanting space on the library's second floor feels like stepping into a scene from Hogwarts.

What is your favorite OU tradition?

The Eve of Nations, it's an annual celebration that showcases the rich diversity of cultures within the university’s international community. This vibrant event brings together students from around the world to share their traditions through dance, music, and fashion. For me, this tradition highlights the unique and welcoming environment at OU, where every culture is valued and celebrated, making it a truly special part of the Sooner experience.

What advice do you have for prospective students?

My advice is to fully embrace the opportunities that the University of Oklahoma offers, both inside and outside the classroom. OU is a place where you can explore your passions, discover new interests, and build lifelong connections. OU is a place where you’ll not only gain knowledge but also make memories and friendships that will last a lifetime, so enjoy every minute of it!
