Weekdays from June 9 to July 3, 2025, from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. Central Time (CT)

Sooner Discovery is an exclusive, four-week immersive program designed for rising high school juniors and seniors looking to earn college credit, explore OU’s campus, and connect with faculty and current students through exciting, hands-on activities. This is your chance to see what it’s like to be a Sooner, gain valuable college experience, and set yourself up for success—all while having an unforgettable summer!

Students must be present on campus each day of the program—don’t miss this chance to immerse yourself in OU, build connections, and get ahead on college credits!

Opportunity to take one OU Concurrent Enrollment course of your choice (AM in-person or online - up to 3 hours) during the June 9 through July 3 block PLUS the exclusive Sooner Discovery course: Introduction to Academic Discovery, equaling 5 hours of college credit!

What is the exclusive Introduction to Academic Discovery course?
- Introduction to Academic Discovery course is your all-in-one guide to navigating the transition from high school to higher education with confidence. This dynamic course will help you uncover your passions, set meaningful goals, and develop the skills needed to thrive in college and beyond.
- From mastering the college application process and crafting standout essays to exploring scholarships, financial aid, and academic majors, you'll gain insider knowledge to make informed decisions about your future. Process

Sooner Discovery Program Interest Form
- Interested in Sooner Discovery? Please complete our Sooner Discovery Interest Form.
Apply for Concurrent Enrollment
- First time students: First time taking OU Concurrent Enrollment courses? Apply for Concurrent Enrollment online.
- Returing students: Simply submit a new OU Concurrent Enrollment Recommendation Form (pdf) and email to ce@ou.edu.
Schedule Advising Appointment
- Once admitted to take OU Concurrent Enrollment, schedule an advising appointment through iAdvise.
Enroll into Courses
- At your advising appointment, you will work with our advising team to enroll in the one course of your choice and the Sooner Discovery course: Introduction to Academic Discovery. (5 credit hours total)

Oklahoma Resident- Rising High School Seniors

1 Course of Student’s Choice
- Student can choose between an online or in-person course offering:
  - 3 credit hours : $240 total tuition & fees
Introduction to Academic Discovery Course
- 2 credit hours: $160 total tuition & fees

Oklahoma resident rising seniors who take a course of their choice and the Introduction to Academic Discovery Course (5 credit hours) = $400 total cost for the Sooner Discovery program.

Oklahoma Resident- Rising High School Juniors

1 Course of Student’s Choice
- Student can choose between an online or in-person course offering:
  - 3 credit hours : $762 total tuition & fees
Introduction to Academic Discovery Course
- 2 credit hours: $508 total tuition & fees

Oklahoma resident rising juniors who take a course of their choice and the Introduction to Academic Discovery Course (5 credit hours) = $1,270 total cost for the Sooner Discovery program.

There are no program costs with being a part of Sooner Discovery! Daily lunch, OU gear items, exclusive experiences/incentives are all included with simply enrolling in the program!

FAQ

Will there be overnight accommodations available?

There will not be overnight accommodations available for Sooner Discovery this year.

Will students be responsible for their own transportation?

Yes, students will be expected to get to and from campus each day on their own.

What will a typical day look like for me as a Sooner Discovery student?

The Sooner Discovery program takes place weekdays daily (June 9 through July 3) from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. You will meet the group at the designated classroom location each day at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided! Daily activities and experiences will vary.
Outside of the Introduction to Academic Discovery Course (Sooner Discovery specific course) the other course of your choice may take place on campus before the 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. window or otherwise will be online!

Why does the cost vary between Oklahoma resident juniors & seniors?

Tuition (not fees) are waived for all eligible Oklahoma resident high school seniors taking Concurrent Enrollment.
