Sooner Heritage Scholarships
Ask an OU student what scholarship they have received and the chances are good that their answer will be the Sooner Heritage Scholarship.
The Sooner Heritage Scholarship program was established in 2003, especially to help those middle-income students whose families do not qualify for federal assistance but still need a helping hand with college expenses. Sooner Heritage also helps qualified families who have more than one child attending college.
Awards are made based on a students’ financial need as determined by the FAFSA. Any admitted OU or OU Health Sciences Center (HSC) student is eligible to receive Sooner Heritage Scholarships with these caveats:
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six hours per semester to qualify.
- Graduate students must be enrolled in at least five hours per semester.
The Sooner Heritage application for Norman campus students can be found in CASH. The Sooner Heritage application for Health Sciences Center students, which was found on the HSC Financial Aid website, is also closed for 2017-2018, and will reopen in Spring 2018.
