Recently, Education Savings Accounts have been in the news quite a bit and are on the rise nationally. But many people do not have a full understanding of their impact, or even all the details surrounding an ESA.

Find out more about the impact of ESAs on education and what they mean for Oklahoma families during a virtual discussion set for Feb. 25 from noon to 1 p.m., hosted by OU’s Leadership and Policy Center for Thriving Schools and Communities, or OU Thrive.

This discussion will examine the ESA from a variety of perspectives as viewers hear from Jonathan Small, president of Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs, and Richard Cobb, superintendent of Mid-Del Public Schools. Professor Daniel Hamlin of the Jeannine Rainbolt School of Education at OU-Tulsa will moderate the discussion.

OU Thrive came from the consolidation of the Oklahoma Center for Education Policy (OCEP) and the Professional Development Leadership Academy (PDLA) on the OU-Tulsa campus. The new center integrates leadership preparation, social science research and leadership development work with the aspiration of nurturing thriving communities.

The ESA discussion is open to the OU community and to members of the public.
