Celebrating Black History Month The University of Oklahoma graphic

February is Black History Month – a chance for all Americans to celebrate Black achievement and stories, and to reflect on longstanding systemic inequalities.

The monthlong observance is also a time to learn about Black identity and representation – both in present day and in how we talk about the past.

Several OU students and alumni recently shared their views on the meaning of Black History Month and its role in inspiring all of us to build a more inclusive society – all year round.
