Recent OU Fulbright U.S. Student Recipients

2024-2025

Jaron Davidson

Jaron Davidson
of Clinton, Utah, is a Ph.D. candidate in the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Anthropology with a focus in archaeology. He received a Fulbright U.S. Student Program award to Chihuahua and Mexico City, Mexico, where he will conduct archaeological surveys and archival research.

Olivia Mitchell

Olivia Mitchell
of Moore, Oklahoma, graduates in May 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering. She received a Fulbright U.S. Student Program award to Sri Lanka, where she will conduct research on primate species and their adaptability to habitat loss or change in the Kaludiya Pokuna Forest in the Central Province.

of Ada, Oklahoma, graduated in May 2023 with a master’s degree in English – Literature and Cultural Studies and is a First-Year Composition instructor at OU. He received a Fulbright U.S. Student Program award to serve as an English teaching assistant in Belgium.

Taylor Broadbent

Taylor Broadbent

of Moore, Oklahoma, graduated in May 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in constitutional studies. She received Fulbright’s only Anne Wexler Scholarship in Public Policy to pursue a master’s degree in public policy and programs at the University of Melbourne, Australia.

Nikola Dragicevic
of Oklahoma City, graduated in May 2023 with bachelor’s degrees in international studies and Spanish. He received a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant program grant to teach English in Argentina.

of Tulsa, Oklahoma, graduated in May 2023 with bachelor’s degrees in history and German. He received a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant program grant to teach English in Saxony, Germany.

Han Pham

Han Pham

of Tulsa, Oklahoma, earned a bachelor’s degree from OU in international and area studies in 2018, and a master’s degree from OU in social work in December 2022. She received a Fulbright Study/Research grant to conduct research in Seoul, South Korea on cultural competence in Korean mental health practices.

Kristin Urías

Kristin Urías

of Dallas, Texas, is pursuing an online Master of Arts in Global Affairs degree in international and area studies. She earned bachelor’s degrees in anthropology and Spanish from Texas A&M University in 2012. She receieved a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant grant to teach English in Argentina. She will also pursue a supplemental project in eco-tourism.


2022-2023

Taylor B. Cozzens
of Dobson, North Carolina, is a Ph.D. candidate in the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of History. He received a Fulbright U.S. Student Program award to Peru to conduct archival and oral history research in the regions of Lima, Junín, Puno, Cusco and Ancash.

Liliana Ruiz Macias
of Oklahoma City, graduated in May 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in human relations and minors in nonprofit organizational studies and Italian. She received a Fulbright U.S. Student Program award to Italy to serve as an English teaching assistant at a school in the southern part of the country.

of Oklahoma City, graduated in May 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in German and psychology. She received a Fulbright U.S. Student Program award to Germany to serve as an English teaching assistant at a school in Hessen.


Katherine Stroh

Katherine Stroh 
of Piedmont, Oklahoma, graduated from OU in 2021 summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology and Spanish, and was an NSF-supported research intern in the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Biology from 2021-22. She received a Fulbright U.S. Student Program award to Ecuador to research the effects of human-mediated climate change on altitudinal range shifts, abundance and infectious disease prevalence in native frog communities in the Ecuadorian Andes.


2021-2022

Carson Ball of Owasso, Oklahoma, graduated in May 2021 with a bachelor's in political science and Native American studies. He spent his Fulbright year at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada, completing a master’s degree in political science.

Hannah Day

Hannah Day of Wichita, Kansas, graduated in May 2020 with a bachelor’s in physics and mathematics. She spent her Fulbright year in Paris, France, completing a master’s degree in theoretical physics through the École Normale Supérieure International Centre for Fundamental Physics.

Britt Leake

Britt Leake 
of Wichita, Kansas, graduated in May 2020 with a master's in international studies; he previously earned his bachelor’s from OU in international studies, French and Arabic with a Spanish minor. He spent his Fulbright year in New Dehli, India, conducting archival research at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, through affiliation with the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance at Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Benjamin Levenson

Benjamin Levenson of Cleveland, Ohio, graduated in May 2020 with a bachelor's in international security studies, German and history. He spent his Fulbright year in Germany as an English Teaching Assistant. 

Lily Lohrey

Lily Lohrey of Tulsa, Oklahoma, graduated in May 2020 with a master’s in international studies; she previously earned her bachelor’s from OU in international studies and Russian. She spent her Fulbright year in as an English teaching assistant in Moldova.

Brit Maguire

Brit Maguire of Kansas City, Missouri, graduated in December 2019 with dual bachelor’s degrees in environmental sustainability and German. She spent her Fulbright year as an English Teaching Assistant in Germany.

Davis Mitchell

Davis Mitchell of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, graduated in December 2019 with a bachelor’s in international business and finance with minors in Spanish and international studies. He spent his Fulbright year in Mexico City completing an internship and taking graduate courses at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.

Thomas Young

Thomas Young of Edmond, Oklahoma, graduated in summer 2020 with a master’s in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). He spent his Fulbright year as an English Teaching Assistant in Germany.

Noah Collins

Noah Collins of Verdigris, Oklahoma graduated from OU with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in anthropology. He will spent his Fulbright year in New Zealand, conducting genetic analysis on indigenous samples of type 2 diabetes and gout.

Sara Fisher

Sara Fisher of Oklahoma City graduated from OU with a master's degree in international studies. She spent her Fulbright year as an English Teaching Assistant in South Korea.

Elliot Holland

Elliot Holland of Muskogee, Oklahoma graduated from OU with a master's degree in German. He spent his Fulbright year as an English Teaching Assistant in Germany.

David Louden

David Louden of Noble, Oklahoma graduated from OU with a bachelor's degree in Russian. He spent his Fulbright year as an English Teaching Assistant in Russia.

Andrew Moore

Andrew Moore of Tulsa, Oklahoma graduated from OU with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He spent his Fulbright year in Aarhus, Denmark, conducting research at The Center for Music in the Brain.

 

Sierra Smith

Sierra Smith of Owasso, Oklahoma graduated from OU with a bachelor's degree in biology. She spent her Fulbright year in the Philippines, conducting research on the interrelationships between invasive species and wildlife disease among amphibians.

Trai Spikes

Trai Spikes of Kansas City, Missouri is an PhD student in ecological and evolutionary biology at OU. He spent his Fulbright year in Germany, conducting research on the evolution of mate preference and related behaviors in Caribbean live bearing fish.

Wyatt Stanford

Wyatt Stanford of Haileyville, Oklahoma graduated from OU a bachelor's degree in public relations and French. He spent his Fulbright year as an English Teaching Assistant in France.

Matthew Walters

Matthew Walters of Willard, Missouri graduated from OU with a bachelor's degree in international studies and Russian. He spent his Fulbright year as an English Teaching Assistant in Ukraine.

Marisa Brumfield of Norman, Oklahoma graduate from OU with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Sustainability and spent her Fulbright year as an English Teaching Assistant in Spain.


Casey Cai of Tulsa, Oklahoma graduated from OU with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Biology. She spent her Fulbright year conducting computational biology research at the Princess Maxima Center for Pediatric Oncology in Utrecht, the Netherlands.


Holly Crawford of Clarinda, Iowa graduated from OU with a bachelor's degree in International Business, Entrepreneurship and Venture Mangement. She spent her Fulbright year completing a Binational Internship in Mexico.


Ashlynne Macnee of Arlington, Texas graduated from OU with a bachelor's degree in Microbiology and Chinese. She spent her Fulbright year conducting research at the University of Stuttgart, Germany.


Mitchel McCormick, of Ardmore, Oklahoma graduated from OU with a bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies. He spent his Fulbright year completing a Binational internship in Mexico.

Kate Bergum, of Superior, Wisconsin, graduate from OU with a bachelor’s degree in English, professional writing and psychology. She spent her Fulbright year as an English teaching assistant in Macedonia. 


Joseph Brown

Joseph Brown, of Kansas City, Missouri, graduated from OU with a master’s degree in biology. He spent his Fulbright year conducting research in the Philippines on the conservation and ecology of the critically endangered Philippine crocodile.

Jordan Woodward

Jordan Woodwardof Tulsa, Oklahoma, graduated from OU with a master’s degree in English. She spent her Fulbright year conducting a series of digital storytelling workshops with women in New Delhi and Varanasi, India, regarding their socio-cultural, religious and domestic relationships to and interactions with the Ganges and Yamuna rivers in India.

Molly Catherine Hackett, of Denver, Colorado, graduated from OU with a bachelor’s degree in European and international studies. She spent her Fulbright year pursuing a master’s degree in European studies at the University of Leuven in Belgium.

Cody Williams

Cody Williams, of Norman, Oklahoma, graduated from OU with a master’s degree in history. He spent his Fulbright year in Porto Alegre and Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, where he conducted research on the politics and ethics surrounding accidents and litigation in the coal mining and textile industries.
