Explore Career Communities

Did you know that your job search does not have to be limited by your major? The OU Career Center has created six Career Communities, based on industry rather than major. These Communities help students narrow their career aspirations into manageable and relevant fields of interest.

By choosing a Career Community, students are connected to specialized advising, career resources, job opportunities, networking events, and more. Students are encouraged to explore more than one Career Community! Still unsure about your career path? You can find helpful information and support through the “Exploration Community”.

Handshake is a career management platform that intuitively connects you to relevant job opportunities based on your profile, interests, and search activity. Through Handshake, you can apply for positions, explore companies and connections, and sign up for career fairs and workshops all in one place. To access Handshake on the go, download the app!

Don't Cancel Class

Need to be away from campus during your regularly scheduled class time or just wish to add a guest speaker to your syllabus? As an alternative to canceling your class, let a professional Career Adviser or trained Career Coach from the OU Career Center present to your students!
