Sarkeys Fitness Classes

Sarkeys Fitness Center

The Sarkeys Fitness Center features eight basketball/volleyball/badminton courts, five racquetball courts, a squash court, 1/6th mile indoor track, two large multi-purpose activity rooms, two weight room areas, a large cardio room with mounted flat-screen TVs, a climbing wall, a personal training room, and a massage therapy room. Membership includes use of the facilities, including the Murray Case Sells Swim Complex, FIT classes, a locker, towel use at the HHFC, and other amenities provided to faculty and staff. Murray Case Sells Swim Complex

The indoor and outdoor pools are open for your own exercise routines or to take a group fitness class! The indoor pool is an eight-lane, 25-yard lap pool with a 13-foot diving well with one 1-meter springboard. The outdoor facility consists of an Olympic size pool 50 meters by 25 yards with a 13-foot diving well and two 1-meter spring boards as well as a kiddy pool. Goddard Health Services

Rest assured that all of your emergency and non-urgent needs can be cared for right on campus. Allergy injection, immunization, lab and X-ray, and nutrition services are available, along with Healthy Sooners and Women's Center resources. Visit the Goddard Health Services page for more information.

Goddard Counseling Center

Goddard Counseling Center offers individuals counseling, couples counseling, group counseling, psychiatric services, and career counseling and testing. Crisis Services for emergent and non-emergent situations is also available. Visit the Goddard Counseling Center page for more information.

Safety

Students and families can rest assured that the OU Police Department and other resources around campus consistenly keep our community safe.

SafeWALK

This free service utilizes resident advisers, who are screened and approved by OUPD, to accompany members of the university community anywhere on campus when they call (405) 325-WALK. Staff members are readily identifiable by special shirts, coats, and badges. Visit the SafeWalk page for more information. 

SafeRIDE

SafeRide provides safe and free taxi transportation to OU students within the Norman city limits. Each student receives one free SafeRide every weekend to be used Thursday, Friday, or Saturday evening from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.

OU Police Department

The OU Police Department is an accredited law enforcement agency responsible for coordinating and providing emergency and public safety services to the Norman Campus. OU's police headquarters is located just south of campus. Visit the OUPD's page for more information.

Residential Advisors

Every floor of each residential college has a student residential advisor to assist students in any situation. Residential advisors are there to aid student success and have a deep understanding of many of the student resources on campus. 

Storm Shelters

Various locations on campus have been cleared as severe weather refuge areas. Each building is clearly marked to shelter or seek shelter during severe weather situations. Above-ground structures are located near the residence halls. Visit the Emergency Preparedness page for more information.

Campus Lights

Free emergency telephones located in various outdoor locations on campus provide direct contact to the OUPD dispatcher. Emergency telephones are identified with a blue sign reading “EMERGENCY” and a blue light. These phones may be used to request service or obtain other information and assistance as needed. 

Guardian Campus Safety App

Guardian safety app allows students to set a safety timer, manage and message your “guardians,” contact emergency services, and create a personal safety profile.

OU Alert

In the event of a weather or safety emergency, students and parents/guardians can set up the OU Alert Systems through their OU account. These timely warnings are designed to reach the entire campus community through the use of email, text message alerts, and/or phone calls.
