OU Class of 2022 Gift to Benefit Three Campus Projects

OU Class of 2022 Gift to Benefit Three Campus Projects

Members of the University of Oklahoma Class of 2022 will commemorate their time at OU by directly supporting three campus projects – the University Counseling Center, the OU Food Pantry and the Miracle Mindset College Access Program.

Traditionally, each graduating class at OU sponsors a class gift that serves as a reflection of their time spent at OU and as a “thank you” to their alma mater. So far, the Class of 2022 has raised nearly $15,000, far surpassing its fundraising goal of $5,000.

“The Class Gift Committee and I loved being able to help raise money for the University Counseling Center, OU Food Pantry and the Miracle Mindset College Access Program,” said Madison Ellis, Class Gift Committee chair for the Student Alumni Board. “We are extremely proud of the success of this year’s class campaign.”

Funds raised for the class gift will help provide additional support for student mental health services and free supplemental food assistance for OU students, faculty and staff. Part of the class gift is also designated toward supporting Miracle Mindset, which provides scholarships for first-generation, low-income high school students from across the state.

This year, the three organizations to receive funds from the class gift were selected by the Class Gift Committee. Seniors are encouraged to honor their graduation year with a contribution of $20.22.

Since 1906, OU students have left behind a special gift to campus and all the students who follow in their footsteps. Over the years, many class gifts have become beloved campus landmarks, such as the Cherokee Gothic arches that welcome visitors to the university, the Spoonholder, the Reflecting Pool at The Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium and the Union Plaza of Oklahoma Memorial Union.
