OU Announces Phased Reopening of Back-to-Campus Work
June 8, 2020
The University of Oklahoma announced a phased-in return of on-campus work for employees on the Norman campus, which includes OU-Tulsa employees in Norman campus-based programs. A soft reopening of back-to-campus work will begin on July 6, with a fuller return slated for Aug. 3. President Harroz addressed the plans in a video message to the OU community.
More details on this two-phased return will be available soon from OU Human Resources, and employees will receive guidance from their supervisors in the near future.
As return-to-campus plans progress, OU has appointed Dr. Dale Bratzler, a nationally leading expert in infectious diseases and public health, as University Chief COVID Officer.
Last month, the university conducted a pilot testing and contact tracing program for Norman campus researchers returning to on-campus work – a process that has informed the upcoming broader return of employees.
Because of the distinct clinical operations of the OU Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, the employees in these programs began a phased return to normal operations in May.
