OU Price College of Business Dean Daniel Pullin Accepts New Role at TCU

April 11, 2019

Norman, Okla. – Daniel Pullin, who has served as the dean and Fred E. Brown Chair of the Michael F. Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma since 2014, has accepted a position at Texas Christian University. Pullin has been appointed the John V. Roach Dean and professor of entrepreneurship for TCU’s Neeley School of Business.

“We are grateful for Dean Pullin’s service to OU and to Price College,” said Kyle Harper, senior vice president and provost at OU. “Under his leadership, Price College has enjoyed a period of dynamism and growth, and he leaves us poised to achieve even higher levels in the future.”

Pullin was appointed dean and Fred E. Brown Chair of Price College on April 1, 2014, after serving as interim dean since July 1, 2013. He taught each semester in Price College, where he received the OU Foundation Alumni Teaching Award in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Pullin previously served as university vice president for strategic planning and economic development and chairman of OU’s Ronnie K. Irani Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth, now administered by Price College.

During Pullin’s tenure, the college has increased its graduate program by 50 percent in five years. By relocating the program to a new facility in Oklahoma City in 2017, the 27,000-square-foot Gene Rainbolt Graduate School of Business, the MBA and other graduate programs have seen increases in national rankings. Most notably, U.S. News and World Report recently posted the highest rankings for OU’s MBA program in 15 years. Additionally, Pullin coordinated entrepreneurial initiatives and collaborations across the state for the college, including the Tom Love Innovation Hub in Norman, named after a transformative gift from the Love family last year. A multi-phase campaign to modernize and centralize facilities for the college’s divisions of management information systems and finance currently is underway in the historic Adams Hall.

Prior to joining OU in 2006, Pullin served as vice president of strategy and business development for Home Interiors and Gifts following his tenure at McKinsey and Company, a global consulting firm, and Hicks Muse Tate and Furst, a leading private equity fund.

Pullin serves on the board for the Norman Economic Development Coalition and has served on the boards for the Oklahoma Academy and the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology. He is also on the Board of Advocates for OU’s Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education’s K20 Center for Educational and Community Renewal and is a member of the Rotary Club 29 of Oklahoma City, as well as the Downtown Club of Oklahoma City.

Pullin, a licensed attorney, earned undergraduate degrees in accounting and finance from OU, an MBA from Harvard Business School and a juris doctorate from OU. He and his wife, Tamara, have two sons, Parker and Halsey.

The Michael F. Price College of Business, originally established in 1928, ensures the enduring global competitiveness of Oklahoma and the nation. As OU’s second-largest college, the Price College of Business educates more than 4,500 students through undergraduate, master’s, doctoral and executive programs across six academic divisions in Accounting, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development, Finance, Management and International Business, Management Information Systems and Marketing and Supply Chain Management.
