NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma has been ranked among the top institutions in the nation, both public and private, for its online degree programs. U.S. News & World Report has recognized OU as No. 2 in the category of “Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans,” which also includes programs for active duty soldiers. OU is ranked No. 3 in the overall category of “Best Online Bachelor’s Programs” and tied for No. 5 in the category of “Best Online Graduate Criminal Justice Programs.”

We especially appreciate the recognition of the service we provide to those who are serving our country in uniform, and to those who otherwise might not be able to obtain a quality college degree. The online bachelor’s degree programs and the graduate criminal justice degree, administered through the College of Liberal Studies and University Outreach, are interdisciplinary in focus and cater to the degree completion needs of non-traditional and adult students, including service members, veterans and their families. Students have access to the knowledge and experience of internationally-respected academicians and professionals, as well as one of the largest research libraries in North America. Every online class, of the more than 1,000 offered, is recorded and archived so students can obtain lecture material at their convenience.
The OU College of Liberal Studies offers online bachelor’s degrees in administrative leadership, criminal justice, liberal studies, lifespan care and world cultural studies. The college offers master’s degrees in administrative leadership, criminal justice, human and health services administration, museum studies and prevention science.
In its rankings, U.S. News & World Report evaluated several factors to rank the best online bachelor’s degree programs, including graduation rates, faculty credentials and support services available remotely. In its list of best online programs for veterans, selected schools first must be ranked among the top half of schools in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Online Programs rankings. The schools also must be certified for the GI Bill and have enrolled a critical mass of students with military backgrounds.
