President’s Concert Honors President David Boren & First Lady Molly Shi Boren

The Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts presents the President's Concert, which honors University of Oklahoma President David L. Boren and First Lady Molly Shi Boren.

The President's Concert takes place at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, in Sharp Concert Hall, located in the Catlett Music Center on the OU Norman campus.

The concert will feature the OU Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jonathan Shames, with the OU Women's Chorus, David Howard, director, and the OU Combined Choirs, Richard Zielinski and David Howard, directors.

The program includes The Star-Spangled Banner arranged by Luigi Zaninelli, Medea’s Meditation and Dance of Vengeance by Samuel Barber, Three Nocturnes by Claude Debussy, and Johannes Brahms' Symphony No. 1.

“President and Mrs. David Boren support the arts at OU with unmatched vigor and devotion,” said Shames. “Within the spirited artistic atmosphere they have created, it’s thrilling to be a musician at the university. For these reasons it’s both gratifying and a privilege, at the end of the academic year, as the culmination of our efforts, to present this concert in their honor.”
