NORMAN – After setting an all-time record of 90 percent freshman-to-sophomore retention, University of Oklahoma students have achieved a new record: the highest percentage of summer enrollment in the Big 12.
The newest achievement is in response to OU’s successful “Think 15” Campaign, which encourages students to enroll in a minimum of 15 hours each semester, as well as implementation of a flat-rate tuition that allows students to “bank” hours that they can complete in the summer.
Both the campaign and the flat-rate tuition are efforts to urge students to graduate in four years, thus saving them additional college costs. Almost 9,000 OU students – or more than 37 percent of OU undergraduates – enrolled in classes during the summer of 2015.
