OU’s Union Programming Board has done it again: It’s brought a killer comedy show to Meacham Auditorium to kick off the new year. Keep your Friday night open for Eric André of “The Eric André Show” from the Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim lineup. It all starts at 7 p.m.

Ice Skating at Devon Ice Rink

You don’t need to be on Brian Boitano’s level to get yourself on some ice skates and have some fun at the Devon Ice Rink this weekend. The rink is open seven days a week at Myriad Botanical Gardens through Feb. 1. Twelve bucks gets you access to the rink and some rental skates. TEDxOU

This one’s for the thinkers. The creators. The movers and shakers. TEDxOU 2015 kicks off at 9:30 a.m. Friday and runs till 4 p.m. in Meacham Auditorium, and all you innovating-types are invited. It’s a day jam-packed with sessions of sharing ideas and pushing boundaries. Find out more about it here. 

'Rudderless' at the Paramount

Ever heard of the movie “Rudderless?” The film, starring Billy Crudup, Felicity Huffman, Laurence Fishburne and directed by William H. Macy, was shot right here in the Sooner State. Catch a showing of it at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Paramount in Oklahoma City. See more Paramount events here.

Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art lecture

Chad Alligood, curator at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, presents “State of the Art: Discovering American Art Now” at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art. The snappy dresser, who once caught the eye of Esquire magazine editors, plans to talk about community, localized support and connectedness.
