1. Blitzen Trapper at Opolis
Fun Blitzen Trapper fact: The band started out with the name Garmonbozia and one of the songs off its first record was titled “Oklahoma.” So we like to think the Sooner State holds a special place in their folky little hearts. Catch’em at 10 p.m. Friday at the Opolis. Doors open at 8.
2. ‘Paper Towns’ at the Meacham
Let’s all relive our high school days this weekend as the OU Union Programing Board debuts ‘Paper Towns’ Friday night in Meacham Auditorium. Showings include 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and midnight. Bring all your friends, but forget your wallets because it’s free with a student ID.
3. The Parade is in Town
Start off Homecoming day on the right float (LOL-see what we did there). The annual homecoming parade begins at 11:30 a.m. along Boyd Street. All ages can enjoy the colorful floats contributed by many different OU organizations on campus. It’s a great way to start a great day of some great Sooner football (sounds great, right?).
4. Bricktown Haunted Warehouse
Get in the spirit (or should we say spirits) of Halloween this weekend at the Bricktown Haunted Warehouse at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Doors open at 7 p.m. starting Oct. 21-31. Be scared out of your mind while visiting the place of America’s pastime. What could be better?
5. You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown
Join Sooner Theatre as it premieres “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” Friday through Sunday. Showings will be at 8 p.m. Friday through Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Bring your friends and family and come enjoy the revamped classic that will have every seat bouncing with laughter.
