Free doughnuts to help you through your midterms? Blessed be, UPB. You’ll find them at 9 a.m. Friday in the Oklahoma Memorial Union lobby. Grab a free pastry to get you through that study session and give those Union Programming Board angels a high-give on your way out.
2. University Theatre Presents: ‘Ragtime’
Show University Theatre some love this weekend by checking out its production of “Ragtime,” “an enduring celebration of American life — the music of something beginning, an era exploding, a century spinning.” Check the OU Campus Calendar for this weekend’s showtimes.
3. Archaeology Day at Sam Noble Museum
Learn the art of flintknapping and cordage (that has to do with ships, right?) at the Sam Noble Museum's Archaeology Day event. After you’re done adding those skills to your resume, get a guided tour of the museum. And remember, the museum is always free to OU students if you’re looking for a weekend activity on the cheap. The event is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.
4. Open Streets OKC
Oklahoma City’s 23rd street in Uptown will be jam-packed with activities during Open Streets OKC from noon-4 p.m. Sunday. In addition to food trucks, the event will showcase a Spokies bicycle competition, rowing and kayaking machines from the OKC Boathouse District, and the infamous smoothie bike brought to you by the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.
5. Peace Love & Goodwill Festival 2015
Peace and love and good will? We’re getting all the feels over here, guys. Help support Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma’s youth programs by attending this year’s Peace Love & Goodwill Festival from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday at Myriad Botanical Gardens. You’ll find food from Phill Me Up Cheesesteaks, the Saucee Sicilian, Big Truck Tacos and more, and the sounds of Kyle Reid & the Low Swinging Chariots, Horse Thief, Graham Colton and Emily Hearn.
