Sooner Weekend: Oktoberfest, Cuddle Party Comedy Show & 2nd Friday Norman

#SoonerWknd: Oktoberfest, Cuddle Party Comedy Show & 2nd Friday Norman

We know you’re watching the OU/TX game (duh, right?), but here are five other events to round out your Sooner Weekend.

*Oct. 9-11

1. Cuddle Party Comedy

Cuddle Party Comedy at Opolis is sure to send you into a giggle fit. (We’re already LOL-ing at the name.) Presented by OKC Comedy, this weekly alternative comedy show costs $7 and spotlights national headliners and locals alike. Sunday’s lineup includes James Ngheim, Brett James, Andrew Wagner, Geri Richlin & Cam F. Awesome. Doors open at 8 p.m. with the show at 9. Sooners 21 and over.

2. 2nd Friday Norman

In addition to live music and artwork galore, this month’s 2nd Friday Norman will have some exciting new food trucks rolling through. We’ve got our eye on Snow S’more, because, well, look at those babies

3. 2nd Friday at the Fine Arts Library

Hey, Deadheads! You’re in luck this week because the Grateful Dead tribute band Dead Serious performs at 5:30 p.m. in Room 020 of the Fine Arts Library in Catlett Music Center. Not into psychedelic rock? No problem. The event also features the sounds of Beau Mansfield, Lloyd Blackmon and Abby Collins. It’s all part of 2nd Friday at the Fine Arts Library.

4. 39th Annual Watonga Cheese and Wine Festival

If you’re a fan of charming, small-town festivals, Watonga is where it’s at this weekend. The Annual Watonga Cheese and Wine Festival draws crowds from across the state. It’s a bit of a jaunt there (about an hour and a half from Norman), but hey, you’ve got the whole weekend to explore the Sooner State. And remember, this is cheese we’re talking about.

5. Hair of the Dog Oktoberfest at STASH

Who said you have to leave Norman to find a decent Oktoberfest? If you haven’t figured out by the name (Hair of the Dog Oktoberfest), this event means business. The craft beer spectacular features some of the area’s best craft breweries and benefits the Bella Foundation. Stop by between 6 and 10 p.m. Friday. The event is $15 the day of.
