Sooner Weekend: Bedlam Corn Maze, Must-Stay Weekend & Oklahoma State Fair

#SoonerWknd: Bedlam Corn Maze, Must-Stay Weekend & Oklahoma State Fair

Here’s what’s on tap for the weekend: Satisfy your fix for food on a stick at the Oklahoma State Fair, get lost in a Bedlam-themed corn maze, and catch OU’s Must-Stay Weekend activities.

*Sept. 25-27

1. OU vs. OSU corn maze

Red Silo Production’s maze opens to the public Friday, and, get this: It’s Bedlam themed. Uh-huh. The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University are facing off amid sorghum stalks. Head down to Chickasha to see it, and make sure to tell them “Boomer Sooner!”

2. Must-Stay Weekend at OU

See YG, DJTFitzz & Zie at this year’s Must-Stay Weekend Saturday at the McCasland Field House. Remember to bring your OU student ID as well as a state-issued ID to see the show.

3. Plaza District Festival

Venture north to explore one of Oklahoma City’s hippest areas, the Plaza District, during the 17th annual Plaza District Festival. Stop by the 1700 block of NW 16th Street between noon and 10 p.m. Saturday and see the bands Kyle Reid and the Low Swingin' Chariots, Tallows, Kierston White and the Dirty Dishes and more. Plus, you’ll find your favorite food trucks and local artists around the district.

4. See a NASA astronaut at Galileo’s World opening forum and reception

We’re pumped to see Galileo’s World kick off at OU. If you haven’t heard, it’s a year-long “exhibition without walls” featuring interesting and interactive displays throughout campus (at all three OU campuses, in fact). See what all the buzz is about — and hear from NASA astronaut Lee Morin — at the Galileo’s World reception from 1-7 p.m. Friday at the National Weather Center.

5. Oklahoma State Fair

We’re loving the Oklahoma State Fair’s “interactive food finder” that helps you “find a food that fits your mood.” Pick out a treat like the bacon ice cream sundae (or 14 other bacon-covered dishes) and pinpoint where you can find it at the fair. Genius! The fair ends Sunday, so hurry up and create that ultimate fair grub bucket list.
