H&8th Night Market
We hear you: It’s been a long winter waiting for the state’s largest food truck festival to return. If you’re like us and ready to dabble in the delights of several mobile restaurateurs, keep your Friday night open for the first H&8th Night Market of the year. Head to Hudson and 8th Street in Oklahoma City between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. (or a little earlier if you want to claim your spot at the front of your favorite food truck line).
Medieval Fair of Norman
Fair ladies and good sirs, let us go thither to the Medieval Fair! (Were we pulling that off at all?) The 39th Annual Medieval Fair in Norman’s Reaves Park promises a full weekend of mirth and merriment, with pottery, stained glass, armor and more. Find all the information ye desire on the Medieval Fair of Norman’s website. (Nailed it.)
Author Michael Chabon at Sam Noble Museum
Appearing at Sam Noble Museum at 6:30 p.m. Thursday is Michael Chabon. Yes, guys, that Michael Chabon! The Pulitzer Prize-winning author of “The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay” is making his way around Oklahoma with the help of the Pioneer Library System. Find everything you need to know here, including how to register for the event.
Kyle Reid & The Low Swingin’ Chariots at Opolis
Head to Opolis Friday night to see Kyle Reid & The Low Swingin’ Chariots like you’ve never seen them before: all gravely and growly and, you know, Tom Waits-y. The local band presents at 10 p.m. with “The Music of Tom Waits”. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Norman’s Food & Shelter For Friends.
Support your Sooners in the Sweet 16
We hear most of the nation’s brackets have been busted, but that doesn’t detract from the most important part of March Madness: that the Sooners are still swingin’. The Sooners battle it out in the Sweet 16 with Michigan State on Friday at the East Regional in Syracuse, New York. The game airs at 9:07 p.m. Central Time on TBS so find your nearest TV and settle in for a great game.
