NORMAN – Capital improvement projects for student housing expansion, roadway repairs and the campus health center are among topics to be discussed by the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents at its regular meeting Tuesday, March 10, in Oklahoma City.

The meeting will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Robert M. Bird Health Sciences Library, 1000 Stanton L. Young Blvd., on the OU Health Sciences Center, with items submitted by Cameron University, followed by Rogers State University and then OU.

The board will consider a recommendation related to the design development phase plans for the Residential Colleges student housing project. The two Residential College facilities will be located at the southwest corner of Jenkins Avenue and Lindsey Street, and each one will house approximately 300 students in a mix of room and suite configurations. The colleges will include a faculty-in-residence apartment, communal dining, a storm-hardened shelter, student lounge areas, and other organizational and academic amenities utilizing the “Residential College” community model.

In addition, the Regents will consider a proposal for the award of a contract to repair Timberdell Road between Jenkins Avenue and Chautauqua Avenue. The project would include roadway replacement, a new structural subgrade and paving.

The board also will consider a recommendation for the award of a contract to renovate the reception and check-in area of Goddard Health Center. If approved, the renovations would allow more privacy for faculty and students during check-in. The heating and air conditioning equipment also would be updated.

The next meeting of the OU Board of Regents is currently scheduled for May 7 and 8 in Norman.
