Sooner Weekend: Food Truck Rally, Art Walk & OKC Vintage Market Days

#SoonerWknd: Food Truck Rally, Art Walk & OKC Vintage Market Days

Squeeze a few of these events into your weekend, like a local art walk or OU College of Law's Sunday food truck rally.

OKC Vintage Market Days

If you’re the kind of plan-ahead person who starts holiday shopping in November, first, we commend you. Second, we suggest you head up to OKC Vintage Market Days to peruse aisles of vintage finds and snack at some of Oklahoma’s best food trucks. The event takes place from 1-6 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and noon-4 p.m. Sunday at the Farmers Public Market, 311 S. Klein, Oklahoma City. Admission is $5 Saturday and Sunday, or you can get an all weekend pass to shop early Friday and come back throughout the weekend.

Food truck rally

OU College of Law is making your Sunday lunch an easy choice as it rolls in three great options to campus. The Student Bar Association has invited food trucks from Big Truck Tacos, Taste of Soul and Off the Hook Seafood to the College of Law at Elkouri Oval, 300 Timberdell Road. Stop by Sunday’s food truck rally between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to get your fill.

Paseo Arts Walk

If you made the jaunt up to OKC to check out the OKC Vintage Market Days Friday or Saturday, on your way back to Norman swing by the Paseo Arts District to see the First Friday Arts Walk and check out works from more than 80 local artists in 20 gallery locations. If you’ve got food on your mind while you’re there, you won’t have to look far. Pop into Picasso Cafe or split the Green Lantern pizza with friends at Sauced on Paseo. The monthly event is held from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. Friday and noon-6 p.m. Saturday.

OU vs. Baylor

The regular football season is in its final sprint now, with only two more home games taking place after Saturday. Get yourself to the Oklahoma Memorial Stadium — or the closest TV to catch it on Fox Sports 1 — to cheer on the Sooners as they take on the Baylor University Bears. Kickoff is at 11 a.m.

Animal lovers invited to Sam Noble Museum

If free and informative is what you’re looking for, check out this complimentary reception and presentation at Sam Noble Museum featuring visiting scholar and wildlife conservation expert Joel Berger. From the impacts of energy development on Yellowstone’s pronghorn to wild yak surveys on the Tibetan Plateau, Berger’s research spans human-wildlife interactions, long-distance migrations and climate change. The event takes place at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
