OU Olympian Receives Award of Distinction

Olympian and OU alumnus Bart Conner will receive the Award of Distinction at the 14th annual Celebration of Education.

Olympic gold medalist and University of Oklahoma alumnus Bart Conner will receive the Award of Distinction at the 2014 OU Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education’s annual Celebration of Education in Oklahoma, set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 28, in the Molly Shi Boren Ballroom of Oklahoma Memorial Union, 900 Asp Ave.

The awards ceremony also will recognize the following Oklahoma educators:

Heather Goodenough, secondary social studies instructional specialist at Broken Arrow Public Schools, the Young Educators Award

Jason Brunk, assistant superintendent at Yukon Public Schools, the Outstanding Educator Award

Robert Everett, retired superintendent of Newcastle Public Schools, the Career Achievement Award

Amy Jones Williams, an early childhood educator and tireless community volunteer, the Meritorious Service Award

Dawn Brockman, student congress adviser and leadership teacher at Norman High School, will be inducted into the College of Education’s Alumni Hall of Fame

Amy Simpson and Shelley McMillin, principals at Plaza Towers and Briarwood Elementary schools in Moore, will be honored with the special Exemplary Leadership and Service Award
