OU Libraries Holds Book Sale

OU Libraries kicks off its annual sidewalk sale, selling thousands of books, Oct. 1 and Oct. 2.

NORMAN – Thousands of books – including best-sellers, classics, science, social science, foreign language and children’s books – will be offered for sale at bargain basement prices during the University of Oklahoma Libraries’ annual sidewalk book sale, scheduled from 10 a.m. 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, and Thursday, Oct. 2.

Members of the OU community will have the opportunity to purchase books first, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, before it opens to the public. The sale will take place on the south side of the Neustadt Wing of Bizzell Memorial Library, 401 W. Brooks St., on the OU Norman campus.

Books in the sale were received as gifts to the University Libraries and are in the sale because the library already owns copies or the materials are not appropriate for the collection.

Hardback books will be $2; paperbacks will be $1, and magazines will be 50 cents. Further discounts will be taken Thursday for remaining items.

Money raised from the book sale will be used to purchase additional materials for the library collections.

Payment for books can be made in cash or by check.
