Equipment for the newly constructed Information Technology Shared Services Data Center at Four Partners Place on the University of Oklahoma’s Research Campus and the L. Dale Mitchell Baseball Park Expansion and Improvements, Phase II, project are among topics to be discussed by the OU Board of Regents at its regular meeting Thursday and Friday, Dec. 6 and 7, in Oklahoma City.
The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium of the Samis Education Center of OU Children’s Hospital, 1200 Children’s Ave., in Oklahoma City, with items submitted by Cameron University, followed by those submitted by Rogers State University. The meeting will continue at 9 a.m. Friday in the same location with items submitted by OU.
The OU Board will discuss the purchase of equipment that is part of the ongoing IT shared services strategy that spans data centers on the Norman, Oklahoma City and Tulsa campuses with a private cloud technology platform that standardizes and updates the university infrastructure providing consolidated and consistent services and enhanced resiliency and disaster recovery capabilities while achieving overall efficiencies and cost savings.
The Regents also will consider a recommendation to approve the design of the second phase of the L. Dale Mitchell Baseball Park Expansion and Improvements project, which will include replacement of the existing ticket booth structure to closely resemble the ticket booths at the northeast and northwest corners of Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. The project also calls for a new architectural fence featuring brick columns and wrought iron panels to be constructed along the Imhoff Road frontage.
The next meeting of the OU Board of Regents is currently scheduled for Jan. 24 and 25 in Norman.
