The First UReCA provides students who have no previous research/creative activity experience with funding and resources to pursue a project during the semester. Students of any discipline are encouraged to apply, and we explicitly encourage those who want to collaborate in interdisciplinary activities.

Summer UReCA Fellowships 2025Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity

The UReCA Summer Fellowship provides roughly 50 students with funding to pursue a broad range of research or creative activity projects. This opportunity is ideal for students of any discipline. Applications will open in February and continue until March 1. 

Application Due 3/7/25. Application form will be published in February 2025

 
UReCA Fall ShowcaseUndergraduate Research and Creative Activity

The UReCA Showcase allows any student who has done research to showcase their work via presentation, poster, and/or performance. Faculty/Staff members are invited to come to this event to network with students and showcase opportunities for involvement.

TRIO: McNair Scholars ProgramDivision of Access and OpportunityTRIO: Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program, more commonly known at OU as the McNair Scholars Program, is a U.S. Department of Education funded program. The purpose of McNair is preparing first generation/low-income and underrepresented undergraduate students for doctoral graduate programs. Open to juniors and rising seniors from all majors, preference is given to students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. 
Project ThresholdDivision of Access and Opportunity

Project Threshold has been serving the OU community by providing services to our undergraduate students and bridging the gap to graduation. We promote student growth through programming that includes coaching, supplemental advising, and volunteer opportunities.

FAFSA and scholarship application assistance is provided as well as services such as access to tutors, a private study room, computer lab,bfree printing, and more.

 
Undergraduate Research DayHonors College

Undergraduate Research Day allows students with Summer and First UReCA awards, as well as anyone with experience in undergraduate research, to present their work to peers and faculty/staff mentors. Prospective and experienced students are invited to attend this event.

Honors Research Assistant ProgramHonors CollegeHRAP gives up to $1000 to Honors students the chance to work with professors as research assistants on specific projects the professor is studying.

Summer Undergraduate Research ProgramsSURPThe Graduate College at the OU Health Sciences Center hosts five summer undergraduate research programs aimed at preparing and encouraging undergraduate students to pursue careers in biomedical research or health-related sciences. Studies show undergraduate research programs are beneficial to the success of applying to and completing a graduate degree program.
