Dr. Lois Jones is an Oklahoma native who is passionate about mental health and public education. She has trained and/or worked in multiple settings including non-profit organizations, psychological assessment clinics, university counseling centers, primary and secondary public schools, university TRIO programs, private inpatient hospitals, and outpatient clinics for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs. She is a past trainee of the Oklahoma Health Consortium which includes providing therapeutic experiences to students at both OUHSC and OU-Norman. She has returned to the University of Oklahoma after several years of working for the VA in both general and primary care mental health. Dr. Jones has experience working with a wide range of presenting concerns, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, interpersonal difficulties, academic interventions, career development, sleep disorders, and chronic pain. She is trained in and incorporates various evidence-based practices, such as SFBT, CBT, ACT, DBT, and CPT. Dr. Jones strives to create a safe, inclusive, and validating space that is person-centered, compassionate, culturally responsive, collaborative, and trauma informed. She looks forward to providing the space and opportunity for clients to learn more about themselves, cope with challenges, and grow in the areas they desire.
