Tuesday, May 11, 2021 @ 7 p.m.
The 2021 OU-Tulsa Convocation will take place on Tuesday, May 11, at 7:00 p.m. at the Mabee Center on the campus of Oral Roberts University.
Graduates from Fall 2020, Spring 2021, and Summer 2021 were invited to participate and should have already registered. Additionally, fall 2019, spring 2020, and summer 2020 graduates were invited to attend as well, as their ceremonies were cancelled last spring. Each student's name will be called as they walk across the stage. Masters and Doctoral candidates will be hooded on stage by their faculty.
Tickets Required - Pick Up Now in Student Affairs, 1C76
Each graduate that requested tickets in advance has been allocated six tickets for their guests; tickets will be required for all guests to gain entry to the Mabee Center. Lost tickets will not be replaced. Each student's set of six tickets will be grouped in consecutive seats, with six-feet being maintained between other groups of seats. When ADA-seating was requested, the group of six tickets may be split between adjacent ADA and non-ADA rows.
Day-of Instructions for Graduates
On the evening of Tuesday, May 11, 2021, OU-Tulsa graduates need to check-in at the Mabee Center between 6:00 - 6:15 p.m. Please enter near the souteast corner of the facility (by the ground-level of the southeast external staircase) at the entrance marked "graduates and faculty." Upon entry, you will receive a temperature check, per ORU policy. Volunteers will check you in and direct you to the designated seating area for your degree program. Please only bring belongings you can discreetly carry with you or place under your seat on the arena floor. Each graduate will be given a card at check-in with their name printed on it; this card will be used to announce your name as you walk across the stage, so please do not lose it.
As a reminder, please maintain social distancing standards and wear your mask at all times while in the check-in line and inside the arena. The check-in area and arena floor are for graduates and faculty only.
Day-of Instructions for Guests | Tickets Required
Guests with official OU-Tulsa tickets may enter the Mabee Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. through the main north and south entrances. All guests must have a ticket to be permitted inside the facility. Lost tickets will not be replaced.
As a reminder, in an effort to mitigate the risk of Covid-19 transmission, masks and social distancing will be enforced at all times. Additionally, it is ORU policy that all attendees receive a temperature check prior to entry.
The ceremony will be live-streamed for those family members and friends not able to join us in-person. The stream will be available on our OU-Tulsa Facebook page.
A photography team will be on site at the Convocation ceremony. The photographs taken will be available for purchase within a few weeks following the ceremony, and you will be notified at the email address you provide by registering at the link provided: http://regis.viewyour.photos/1904/27114513. Please complete this registration prior to arriving at the ceremony on May 11th.
During the ceremony, all guests should stay out of graduate/faculty seating areas in the stadium seating and the arena floor. All aisles should be kept clear as well.
Regalia is Required
All graduates should wear appropriate caps, gowns, and tassels. Masters and doctoral level students will also be "hooded" as part of the Convocation ceremony, and must have their hood with them so as to be hooded on stage. While the official OU regalia is not required, you will need to be in a black gown. Details on the specific regalia items needed for each level of degree and program on the OU-Tulsa campus can be found in our OU-Tulsa regalia guide.
