at the Reynolds Center on the University of Tulsa campus
The 2025 OU-Tulsa Commencement will take place on Tuesday, May 6, at 7:00 p.m. at the Reynolds Center on the University of Tulsa campus.
Graduates from Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 are invited to participate. Each student's name will be called as they walk across the stage. Masters and Doctoral candidates will be hooded on stage by their faculty.
All graduates should wear appropriate caps, gowns, and tassels. Masters and doctoral level students will also be "hooded" as part of the Commencement ceremony, and must have their hood with them so as to be hooded on stage. While the official OU regalia is not required, you will need to be in a black gown. Details on the specific regalia items needed for each level of degree and program on the OU-Tulsa campus can be found in our OU-Tulsa regalia guide (pdf).
To purchase regalia, please attend Graduation Gear-Up on April 3, 2025 in Founders Student Center at OU-Tulsa, anytime between 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. You will be able to purchase your cap, gown, hood, class rings, diploma frames, and more.
If you cannot attend Graduation Gear-Up, please email TulsaSA@ou.edu to schedule an appointment to purchase your regalia after April 4th. You will be required to pay with exact cash or check; Student Affairs will inform you of your exact cost prior to your appointment.
On the evening of Tuesday, May 6, 2025, OU-Tulsa graduates need to check-in at the Reynolds Center between 5:45 - 6:00 p.m. Please enter near the northwest lower level entrance marked "graduates and faculty." Volunteers will check you in and direct you to the designated staging area for your degree program. Please only bring belongings you can discreetly carry with you or place under your seat on the arena floor. Each graduate will be given a card at check-in with their name printed on it; this card will be used to announce your name as you walk across the stage, so please do not lose it.
Please note that metal detectors and a carry-in and clear bag policy will be in place at the TU Reynolds Center.
Metal detectors will be located at the main entrance to the venus. Before screening, guests will empty their pockets of cell phones, keys, and metal objects. Medical lanes will be available for guests who require alternate screening methods.
The clear bag policy will be in effect for graduation ceremonies. All carried-in items will be searched by security personnel prior to entering the venue. Prohibited items must be returned to the owner's vehicle or discarded. Items left at the entrance will be discarded. Any unlawful items are subject to confiscation, and the person in possession of such items is subject to arrest.
A photography team will be on site at the Commencement ceremony. The photographs taken will be available for purchase within a few weeks following the ceremony.
During the ceremony, all guests should stay out of graduate/faculty seating areas in the stadium seating and the arena floor. All aisles should be kept clear as well.
Coming soon there will be an opportunity to pre-register with Candid Color. Registration does not commit you to purchasing photos, but it is the only way to receive proofs of your graduation photos and will speed up the check-in process.
Official diplomas will be mailed to each student's address on file with the University roughly 10-12 weeks after completion of coursework, depending on your campus affiliation (HSC or Norman). Official transcripts may be requested earlier; email Tulsa.SEC@ou.edu for additional information.
