The APIDA Leadership Conference

The APIDA Leadership Conference

The APIDA Leadership Conference (TALC) is a high school conference made for students of Asian Pacific Islander Desi-American background. It is centered on the pillars of transformation, advocacy, leadership, and community. TALC was founded because we felt that these principles were not emphasized enough to high schoolers of APIDA backgrounds. This conference is an opportunity to find not only a sense of belonging in the APIDA community but also a chance for high schoolers to grow as individuals. TALC strives to reach the next generation of APIDA youth so they can find comfort and strength in their identity.

Frequently Asked Questions

The APIDA Leadership Conference was created for APIDA-identifying (Asian Pacific Islander Desi American) high school juniors and seniors. This doesn’t mean if you aren’t APIDA-identifying you can’t attend, but the activities planned throughout the day will be focused on those experiences. The conference’s goal is to focus on building leadership skills, the student experience at the university level, and helping students see how their identity can play a role in their life.

We want to ensure students have the opportunity to attend The APIDA Leadership Conference (TALC).  Select students may be eligible for a conference fee waiver. Please contact ouaasa.talc@gmail.com for inquiries.

  • A form of identification (ex. student ID, driver's license, etc.)
